Dear MAP Lenders and Third-Party Firms –

HUD MAP Lenders have formed a non-profit trade association called the Southwest Mortgagee Advisory Council (SWAC) for the Fort Worth HUD Region. The Council is composed of HUD MAP approved lenders and third-party firms who conduct business within Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska.

SWAC was formed to strengthen business relationships between the HUD offices, Lenders and third-party providers. It provides a forum for discussion of MAP issues and the improvement and promotion of the HUD MAP mortgage insurance programs.

SWAC sponsors an annual conference as well as periodic luncheon meetings, which are open to all members and local HUD Personnel. The annual conference gives your firm an opportunity to visit with members, associate members, and HUD staff in an informal setting. The conference will include an agenda of several informational sessions that will cover timely issues and aspects of HUD processing and underwriting requirements.

Mortgagee Councils such as SWAC have been formed in other regions of the United States and have proved very beneficial to all members and HUD.

You must become a Member or Associate Member of SWAC to participate in these events. Annual dues for HUD approved Lenders (Members) are $375 and annual dues for third-party firms (Associate Members) are $200. Associate Members include appraisal and/or market analysis firms, environmental firms, law firms, PCNA firms and architectural/cost review firms. Annual dues will run on a calendar basis.
